Today was another beautiful day in Central Virginia and since my car was clean I thought today was finally the perfect opportunity to snap some pics of my (still unnamed) 2001 Volvo V70 XC, with some of the local beauty spots in Downtown Lynchburg.

DISCLOSURE: I actually didn't plan these photos at all. I just said that I did because it sounds better than "Hey guys, today I took some pictures with my iPhone of my 14 year old Volvo while driving around Downtown."

Enjoy!

I want one of those so bad.. It'd be the perfect dogmobile.

Great pics!

I love it! I can literally throw anything in the back and go. It has nice pick up for a wagon (TURBO), is renowned for its safety, and is amazingly comfortable. MPGs aren't too shabby either. In the past 5k miles I've averaged 23 mpg with that being a split of 50/50 city and highway, respectively, and have gotten as much as 28 on a long interstate cruise.

The dogmobile capabilities are endless. I almost want a large dog just so I can throw it in the back and take it driving! That said, I do wish the tailgate split at the window like the new BMW 3 Touring. If it did that it'd then be perfect!

Just FYI, if you are planning on buying one steer clear from the 01,02's. They had bad throttle body's and wonky transmissions. Mine is an 01 and it has had the throttle body replaced twice (one under warranty and second professionally rebuilt paid for all out of pocket at a cost north of $600) and the transmission has miraculously made it to 200K as they usually failed within the first 100K. Even still, it is on its way out. Question is: when it's actually going to leave. This thing has made it over 200K on the original transmission and I plan on keeping it as it is, with regular maintenance being done of course, until it finally goes. When that happens I will simply replace it with another unit and keep on truckin'.

You seriously can't beat these things!
